Too sad! Singer Zara Gretti dies after battle with Multiple Sclerosis

 Really sad news. Singer Margaret Mary Oluwatoyin Ejiro Joseph popularly known as Zara Gretti has died. She died this morning in Nigeria after a battle with Multiple Sclerosis. (MS is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord).

Her last tweet last night was "I love and hate my life". She died a few hours later, this morning. She was only 28 years old. Zara, may your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. This is so sad!

Jack and the Beats is a continuation of Jack Daniel’s 150-year heritage which includes a long association with music. Jack Daniel’s and music share a long history, with Jack himself having begun one of the oldest recorded music sponsorship in the 1860's – of the Silver Cornet band. Jack’s whiskey would become the unofficial whiskey of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. NYSC Mourns as Enugu Corps Member Dies During Orientation Programme

Tragedy struck at the Enugu state NYSC orientation camp, Awgu, on Thursday as Ileaminu Yusuf, a corps member who hails from Osun state was announced dead.
Addressing corpers at the meditation ground yesterday morning, the state coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Hilary Nasamu said Yusuf died as a result of complications arising from a dislocated disc he got after injuring himself on the football pitch.
He said Yusuf was transferred from the camp clinic to an Orthopaedic hospital in Enugu when his condition worsened.
It was soon discovered at the hospital that he had a heart condition when he was being treated, Nasamu said.
He added that he was then immediately rushed to the University of Nigeria teaching hospital, where his laboured heart finally gave up.
A mourning period was also announced at the camp which held  till 6pm last night.

Corrupt Judiciary: EFCC Interrogates 10 Judges Of Federal Hight Court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has interrogated 10 judges of an Abuja Federal High Court in connection with allegations of corrupt practices.
The Head of media and publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the ongoing investigation at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.
But he said it would be premature to release the identities and the number of judicial officers who had been interrogated by the agency.
However, an EFCC operative who spoke to Punch correspondent on the condition of anonymity said more judges had been invited for questioning next week.
The 10 judges were interrogated within the week by operatives of the Investigations and Special Operations Division of the EFCC.
As of the time of reporting, EFCC operatives were expecting a prominent judicial official for reportedly demanding N10m bribe from a retired officer of the Nigerian Customs Service

NYPD shuts down Davido's NY concert because it was over-packed

You have to be a really special artist for this to happen to you. The New York Police Department last night March 28th shut down Davido's concert which held at Pulse 48 in Brooklyn because the concert was overbooked, leading to safety concerns. People going to the concert caused shut down of two blocks in Brooklyn, forcing the police to intervene.
The show yesterday was supposed to be Davido's first show as he kicks off US/Canada Tour 2014. He has a show in D.C today and Minnesota tomorrow. Then Dallas, Texas on Friday the 4th of April, then makes a final stop in Toronto, Canada on the 5th of April.

After crying helplessly for nearly 24 hours inside a soak away pit, a day old-baby was over the weekend rescued from a pit in Olomore area of Abeokuta North local government of Ogun state.
An eyewitness said that residents of Surulere community in Olomore area of Abeokuta North woke up to a cry of a little baby coming from a soak away toilet behind a church in the area.
 
Residents said they'd heard the baby crying in the early hours of Saturday morning but could not link the cries to a particular direction. However, later in the day, around 6pm, the baby’s crying became more pronounced and they traced it to a soak-away pit. There, they found the baby, a boy, who was alive with his placenta uncut.
 
The pit slab cover had collapsed some years ago and had not been replaced. The damaged slab concrete saved the baby from going deep into the soak-away pit. (Source - Telegraphng.com)

Indian actor and Nigerian businessman arrested for drug trafficking


A top Bollywood actor, Nanduri Uday Kiran (29) and Nigerian national Rotimi Olusola Kehinde were today arrested by the East Zone Task Force Policemen in India for allegedly transacting a drug deal in Jubilee Hill in India.

According to India Police , Rotimi came to India on a business visa and developed local contacts in trafficking of narcotics drugs in Bangalore and Hyderabad after procuring drugs from one Hakeem, a Sudanese national residing in Delhi. They were arrested when both men were seen negotiating for the drug which cost  Rs 1,500 per gram and sold for Rs 3,000 per gram, depending on the clients needs.

15grams of hard drugs were found on both men when the were arrested. Uday Kiran acted in films like 'Parare', 'Rakshakulu', 'Yuvarajyam' and 'Facebook'.

The 3rd Victor Ochei International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament held between the 19th – 22nd February 2014 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos and drew participations from 27 States of the Federation as well as National Teams of Ghana, Liberia and Benin. Continue..

Victor Ochei never thought about it twice before accepting to take up the position of her Grand Patron and Major Supporter and Number 1 fan of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball and further backed it up with actions that gave birth to the First-of-its-kind Annual Wheelchair Basketball Tournament in Nigeria which he Single-handedly sponsored.
 
Oyo State wheelchair basketball team emerged the champion of the 3rd Victor Ochei International Wheelchair Basketball Championship. The Oluyole Boys defeated Edo State team in the final 51-12 points while Delta State defeated Lagos State 21-14 points to place third. For their effort, Oyo State got the sum of N1.5million while Edo smiled home with N1million. Third-placed Delta collected N500, 000. Delta State female team won the female event having defeated Lagos in the final, while Edo State defeated Imo to place third.
 
The Most Valuable Player awards in both male and female categories went to a couple Musbau and Foluke Shittu. While Musbau represented Delta State, his wife Foluke played for the Oyo female team.
 
The female MVP went home with N100, 000 and $500, while the male MVP got N250, 000 and $1,000, courtesy of the Speaker of the former Delta State House of Assembly and sponsor of the championship, Honourable Victor Ochei.
